Mission
The EKGDX team's mission:
1- Create an online multi-language educational platform focused on electrocardiogram, where the learning process is easy, interactive and accessible from anywhere in the world.
2- Develop a diagnostic tool for electrocardiogram using artificial intelligence.
History
During the planning of our Artificial Intelligence project (currently under development), we identified a big problem, and consists of not having a considerable amount (hundreds of thousands of images) of EKGs. To solve this issue, we decided to create a software that allows us to generate any kind of EKG, while giving us the ability to modify each wave, interval, and segment in terms of amplitude and duration. This is how we create the best EKG simulator that has ever existed. When we realized the educational potential of the platform, Dr. Roig (Founder and Author) decided to enrich it with educational content, and that was how the idea of the educational part of EKGDX was born.
Chronology
February 2017 - Planning initiative of our Artificial Intelligence project started.
May 2017 - The Artifical Intelligence project was on hold due to the issue with the images.
June 2017 - Albert Roig (founder) presented to Pedro Novales (co-founder) the idea of creating an “EKG Generator” as a solution to create the images database of EKGs.
September 2017 - Started the "EKG Generator" development.
December 2017 - Project named as EKGDX.
August 2018 - Progress was achieved, but the results were not as expected.
October 2018 - The "EKGDX software" was restructured.
January 2019 - We realized the educational potential of the platform, and Albert Roig decided to enrich it with educational content.
March 2020 - Official launch of EKGDX, in honor of Sir Thomas Lewis, who wrote the first EKG book. He died in March 1945.
July 2020 - Started the EKGDX Mobile App development for iOS and Android.
January 2021 - We announced a collaborative partnership with the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
February 2021- Dr. Albert Roig and Dr. Alfonso Tolentino began to work together on the development of Volume II (Set A).
